Biggest Fan

So what do you say when your kid is performing in a play in front of a big crowd? How do you act? Of course you think your kid is the most wonderful one up there and the world should notice his wonderfulness. However, you should appear nonchalant, humble,calm, even though you want to jump up during a scene change and yell"That's my son up there,everybody! Isn't he great?" I bet more than one Mom has been 'ushered' out of a theatre by burly men for doing just that. Hmmm...don't want to miss any of the play... Better be quiet.

Mother-in-law

We are all happily preparing for the upcoming wedding of our Johnny to Heather. They are perfect for each other. Our house has been so predominantly male all these years. We have 4 sons and only one daughter. It's nice to have another daughter-in-law on the way as it will help even things out even more for Erin and Annie and me. And we are all delighted with Heather. She fits in.
Not that we're complaining,but it's nice to have more girl conversations at family gatherings.
