Recuperating

Wow! What a whirlwind last week was! John and Heather's wedding was fun and exciting and a lot of work. But worth it,for sure. I went back to work on Wednesday and started in on summer clean. In the summer, we school caretakers scrub down our buildings. I'm the only janitor at my school, so if I don't do it it won't get done. Wash light fixtures and vents, walls, all furniture, lockers and desks and windows, move all furniture out of the room so it's empty, then strip and wax the floor. Then put the furniture back and start on the next room. I hurt. In a week or two I'll be used to it, then I won't hurt so much.

Vacation Days

WOOO HOOOO! I am on holidays til the 19th. I got my usual 'summer vacation hours allowed' sheet from work and found that I get a lot less than last year. What the heck??? I faxed Mark(the one responsible) and asked him to factor it all out in a fax to me and he did a lovely job. Showed me exactly what happened and why, but that he HAD made a mistake- they owed me 2 less days than they said.Something about how they figure out holidays differently than they used to. I didn't understand any of it, and I hate to ask again in case I lose more! The old saying applies here that no matter how bad things get they could always be worse.
