Christmas

It's New Year's Eve and I'm up early as usual. I like early mornings when everyone else is asleep. Over Christmas it was the calm time before the 'storm' of visitors and events and I would get up early and have a coffee and put the house in order and set up for the coming day.We had a lovely Christmas dinner at my school. I booked it there because our house is too small for dinner for 20.Next year we'll be at Tom and Erin's new house.Yay!
This year we had the big Jello showdown-a molded jello competition.I'll have to put pictures up on this blog because it ended up being quite the hilarious event.We also had a concert.My 4 nephews are taking voice lessons and they each prepared a song,then sang Silent Night in 4 parts. The my sister brought out her set of hand bells and we tried playing a couple of carols that she'd brought music for. Then, the usual board and card games, pingpong and foosball.

Christmas CDs

I am a sucker for buying the latest Christmas CDs that come out every year. This year I bought Yo-Yo Ma's Songs of Joy and Peace CD. It has a number of other artists on it, such as Dave Brubeck,Alison Kraus, Diana Krall and Natalie McMaster. I like that the Dona Nobis Pacem melody runs through the CD. I now have it permanently stuck in my head, which is better than having the Brady Bunch theme song stuck in my head......Oh,no!
