The backside of Winter

Okay. I'm sick of it. I was fine up until now, but I want spring! I have noticed people talking about their gardens lately, and their summer plans. The summer clothes are in the stores. I think most of us agree. It's been a wonderfully mild winter, but enough is enough. Are you dreaming about sandy beaches and fruity drinks served in coconut shells? Or, like my good husband and his buddy Mike, are you starting to think about how you can break 90 on the golf course? I bought my first pack of seeds- an italian basil which I hope to start inside so I can make my own pesto.

The blog with no name

You can quote me!
I remember when the kids were young and the older ones would get involved in arguments with the younger ones. I used to say "Never argue with a 2 year old. All you have is logic on your side." A truer thing was never said. What is a favorite quote of yours that you use a lot?
When my friend Theresa used to have to deal with bigotted ignorant people at work she used to say(later of course)"You can't educate pork"
In New Brunswick,on the North shore, where Ray is from they say" That darn east wind! You know what that means!" I finally said "No! I don't know what that means!" The whole room went silent as they all stared at me. "It means it's getting cold"

sick.veryverysick

Yes,I am sick. I took 2 days off work and I am going back to work tomorrow out of shear boredom. Counting this weekend I haven't been out of the house in 4 days. I still have a cough, but I hope that I will just gradually get better instead of worse.
It's birthday month in our family. 5 of us in our immediate and extended family are celebrating. What is your favorite memory of a birthday party? I like the ones outside in the summer in the backyard with way too many guests and Ray playing Happy Birthday on his grandmother's accordian. And sparklers. And fireworks. And a bonfire with the neighbors dropping by to see what's going on. And lots of maritimes music. And Tom and Chris, etc. playing the spoons. And Brad and Tom having their smeagle immitation contest. Is that how you spell Smeagle?

Big Fish

Back to the old routine!
Okay, best news story of 2005: A man in Manchester England was eating his fish and chips when all of a sudden a 1 pound goldfish fell down his chimney and landed on his hearth. Yes,the fire was lit. And yes,the fish lived. What did he do? Well,he put it in the bathtub and, thinking it might be hungry, put some slices of white bread in with it! Then,of course,he called the Wildlife rescue team. They found the fish, barely alive, floating on its side, surrounded by bread. They named it Sooty. They figure a heron grabbed it out of a pond and dropped it down the chimney, it having heron beak marks on its back.
