The next book.

This time Yann Martell has suggested The Murder of Roger Akroyd by Agatha Christie. I've read it but will read it again. It's one of her top 5 books in my opinion. I like her mysteries. Every mystery author's work since Agatha Christie has been compared against her work. One of my favorite books of hers is Death Comes as the End,a mystery set in ancient Egypt. Agatha Christie's husband was an archeologist and so she spent quite a bit of time on site in Egypt with him. I wonder if she wrote it while she was there. I kind of picture her in a tent with her typewriter in the desert imagining what it was like, what people were like, so long ago. It's very different and completely wonderful.
By the way, I did read Animal Farm again and was really impressed, after all my whining.

I just want to confirm that Judy has been whining, she only has 10 bottles left, looks like I better get busy.

The murder of Roger Akroyd was the first Agatha Christie book I had ever read. I borrowed it from the library when I was in grade 6(?) and it knocked my socks off. I've sinced replaced my socks, and am looking forward to reading it again.
