Gilligan's Elevator
Today I went to the Cancer Clinic to visit Joanne as she had her chemo treatment. She's doing very well and we had a nice visit. Judy Catton also dropped in,as well as Janice Akerman. I left there at 1:05 in order to make it to work at 1:30. I work at a school that has employment programs for adults. Some of the adults have interesting reasons why they can't possibly come to school that day, which our long-suffering secretary has to listen to. Anyways, there I was at the Cancer Clinic, down the elevator to the parkade floor, waiting for the elevator door to open.......c'mon,OPEN!!!!!! It was stuck.I was in there alone. No problem,I'll just push the emergency button.Hmmm. It's not working.I know, isn't there supposed to be an emergency phone in elevators? I open the little door.Hmmm. Just two wires hanging down...My cell phone? No service....So I did what all of you would do- I banged on the door and yelled for help. Luckily there were people waiting to get on the elevator. One of them stayed outside the door with me to keep me calm, the others ran willy-nilly looking for help.I asked my new friend on the outside to phone in to my work and tell them I'd be late because I was stuck in an elevator. Half an hour later I was free. A little shaky, but none the worse for wear. I did get teased about my lame excuse for being late, but I expected that!

Wow! Your after-visit sounds very exciting. I think I would have been a little nervous, too. I blogged today, but I don't think there's anything new on there for you - I just wanted to report on my CA125 levels.
